How to Review an AI Short Video: Seven Checks Before Delivery Approval

Review the message, facts, visual consistency, captions and audio, usage scope, delivery formats and revision responsibilities before approving an AI short video

Approval should confirm the agreed purpose

A delivery review should check accuracy, usable images, clear sound, suitable files and agreed usage and revision responsibilities, attractive footage is only one element, refer back to the audience, message and purpose agreed at the start

Suncess Studio treats delivery quality as part of content responsibility, this client-facing checklist does not reveal individual project information, tool combinations or production settings

1–3: Message, facts and visual consistency

First, ask someone outside the production discussion to summarize the message in one sentence, if the intended point is missing, resolve that before adding more visual effects

Second, check names, dates, quantities, service conditions and contact information against approved material, NIST identifies confidently incorrect output as a generative AI risk, completed generation still needs human verification

Third, review whether a person, product, outfit or setting changes in a way that damages recognition or continuity, product imagery must not mislead people about appearance or function

4: Check captions and sound on a phone

Check spelling, important terms, interference from platform controls and whether music masks narration, readability in an editing window does not establish readability on a phone

Watch with sound and without sound to check that the main message remains understandable and the voice is clear, this is a practical use check, not a demand that every film use identical captions

5: Clarify where the finished film may be used

Confirm whether delivery covers social posts, advertising, the website, exhibitions or another use, clarify the sources and intended usage of music, images, people and other third-party materials before release

A client can request clear deliverables, usage conditions and relevant limitations without requesting the team's prompts or private production settings, these are separate discussions

6–7: Check the files and who approves revisions

Sixth, confirm aspect ratio, resolution, number of versions, caption requirements and intended channels against the brief, different uses may need different files, clarify those needs before discovering a missing version after delivery

Seventh, appoint one contact to consolidate feedback and distinguish corrections, changes within scope and new requests, a different story direction needs a scope discussion before work proceeds

Describe which moment has a problem and what it needs to achieve, this is more actionable than saying that the film needs more feeling

Questions about imperfections and acceptance

Must every small detail be identical?

Prioritize effects on understanding and trust, product specifications, recognition and continuity deserve attention, aesthetic preferences should follow the agreed quality and scope

Does receiving one video file complete delivery?

Check the agreement, additional sizes, subtitle files or other versions are included only if agreed, do not assume either way after delivery

Do we still need performance data after approval?

Yes, acceptance checks whether the work can be published as agreed, later data explains audience response, approval does not guarantee performance

A checklist for the handover meeting

Confirm the message, approved information, consistency, captions and sound, usage scope, formats and versions, and the revision contact, record open questions without turning the review into a request for private technical methods

Still untangling the content direction? You do not need a finished brief.
